Many of the famous beaches of the South Hams are only about half an hour away. There are miles of glorious coastal footpaths to explore with broad golden sands, vast sweeping pebble bays, tiny secluded coves, creeks and estuaries. Dartmoor, one of England's last great wildernesses, with rivers, ancient woods and majestic tors extends over 365 square miles. It is close at hand for walking or pony trekking. There is also an enticing network of meandering public footpaths which start right on your doorstep that will take you along the valley or off and away for mile upon mile of rural delight.
